7 March 2017SIOUX CITY | Lucy M. Keene, 92, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at a local care facility after a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Lucy was born on Aug. 9, 1924, in Sioux City, the daughter of Clement and Ruth (Zaragoza) Cruz.
On Aug. 11, 1947, Lucy married Allen R. "Tex" Keene. He passed away on Sept. 12, 2003, in Sioux City. Lucy had worked for Aalfs Manufacturing and Rocklin Manufacturing and did volunteer work at the Bargain Center.
Survivors include her son, Renaldo Keene (Lynn) of Stafford, Va.; one brother, Walter Cruz (Carol) of Omaha; three sisters, Michaela Cruz of Sioux City, Helen Villarreal (Ishmeal) of Omaha, and Mary Chavez of Omaha; a sister-in-law, Kei Cruz of Dana Point, Calif.; four grandchildren, Bob, Ben, Billy, and Amanda; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen "Tex" Keene; brothers, Rufino, Clement, Raymond, and Rudolph; and sisters, Jesse and Cecelia.
