Janice L. "Jan" Iverson, 84, of Sioux City died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at her residence following a brief illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dan Lozer officiating. Cremation will following the services Wednesday. Private graveside services will be Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by an Order of the Eastern Star service, at the funeral home.

Janice Louise Wallen was born Oct. 8, 1920, in Sioux City, the daughter of Claude and Bess (Pecaut) Wallen. She attended East High School and was a lifelong Sioux City resident.

She married John Marvin Moore in December 1936. She later married Jens "Red" Iverson on July 1, 1955. He passed away Sept. 5, 1989. She was a secretary for Executive Copy Systems and for Connie Johnson at Carpet Service Center.

She was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church. She was a founding member of the Shrine's Camper Unit and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. She went South every winter and she loved reading books. She was an avid bowler and card player but most of all, she loved to be around her family.

Survivors include five sons and their spouses, James and Judy Moore, Robert and Vickie Iverson, Thomas and Cindy Moore, Jerry and Rhonda Moore and Jens "Tim" and Debra Iverson, all of Sioux City; six daughters and spouses, Jacqueline and Alan Osterholt, Sandra and Gary Dickman, Betty and George Leckband, Linda Foster, Penny Noble and her special friend, John Treglia and Kathy Moore, all of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Moore of North Sioux City; four sisters-in-law, Verona Wallen, Lavina Iverson, Phylis Iverson and Frances Iverson, all of Sioux City; an aunt, Verona Pecaut of Sioux City; 36 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jens "Red" Iverson; a son, Robert C. Moore Sr.; two brothers, Jack and Robert Wallen; and a sister, Genevieve Christenson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Moore, Ron Moore, Kevin Dickman, Rob Leckband, Dennis Foster, Rick Moore, Don Moore, Brad Leckband, T.J. Moore, Josh Moore, Alex Jones, David Moore and Justin Iverson.
