Rosie entered into communion with her Lord and Savior at 6:13 a.m. Feb. 2006. After a strong and determined fight against her lung cancer, she decided it was time to leave our world and go to be with Jesus, the Christ. She was aware of her family being with her to the last breath she was able to draw.

A short service for family and friends to get together with her for the last time will be 3 to 5 p.m. today at Waterbury Funeral Service, 400th Street, Sergeant Bluff. Her body will be cremated as she wished it. Burial of the ashes will be at a later date.

Rosie was born March 2, 1927, in Racine, Wis. She lived a beautiful and wonderful life with us. She was a very loving person, but also, a person who believed love is the strongest tie a family can have. She taught us to live, to laugh, to be sad and to be honest and straight forward -- as she was. We will sorely miss her but she has left us a strong, loving family. We say, we are the most fortunate persons on this earth, to have had her guidance, discipline and love.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George Z.; her son, George B.; her daughters, Cathryn, Cynthia and Lynda. She has four living children, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

We say, "Good-bye dear Rosie", although you will always live in our hearts.
