Edward K. "Ted" Newton, 85, of Sioux City died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief illness.

Services will be 10;30 a.m. today at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 30 minutes prior to the service today at the funeral home.

Ted was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Sioux City, to John A. and Abigail (Baker) Newton. He attended Sioux City schools. He was employed at the Mayfair, Jackson and Warrior Hotels.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. E.W. Egan of Sioux City; nine nieces; and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
