Beverly J. Buddi, 77, of Sioux City died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Beverly was born July 1, 1928, in Sioux City, the daughter of Orville K. and Leona (Junck) McCuddin. She graduated from Leeds High School in 1945.

She married John E. Thacker on Nov. 27, 1948, in Sioux City. John preceded her in death on July 4, 1966, in Sioux City. Later, she married Sigmund Buddi on Aug. 17, 1973, in Sioux City. Sigmund preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1980, in Sioux City.

She was a bookkeeper with the Streck Accounting Firm, located in Leeds, for many years. She retired several years ago as a housekeeper with the Howard Johnson Hotel.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and square dancing. She was a volunteer with the Department of Social Services. Her favorite pastime was spending time at her cabin at Swan Lake, S.D.

Survivors include five daughters, Becky and her husband, John Holmes of Sioux City, Sally Smith and her fiance, David Cason of Sioux City, Donna Thacker of Moville, Iowa, Linda and her husband, Denny Gnewuch of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Marlene and her husband, David Hesse of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Waldo and Carol McCuddin of Sioux City; two sisters, Marilyn and her husband, Tom Beller of Sioux City and Darlene Mercural of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Delores McCuddin of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three stepsons, Barry, Stephen and Chris Buddi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Thacker; two brothers, Charles McCuddin in infancy and Eldon McCuddin; and a granddaughter, Jessica Jane Thacker.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, John Holmes III, Jason Kunze, Shane Smith, Jeremy Kunze, Justin Holmes, Jess Holmes and Michael Barr.
