Devee R. (Post) Matthews, 53, of LaSalle, Colo., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at North Colorado Medical Center following a two year battle with cancer.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Allnutt Funeral Service - Macy Chapel in Greeley, Colo. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.allnutt.com.

Devee was born June 13, 1952, in Sioux City, the daughter of Robert Henry and Dorothy Devee (Coil) Post. She graduated from Sioux City East High School in 1970. She attended Western Iowa Tech Community College, where she received training in secretarial skills.

She married Joe E. Matthews on Sept. 9, 1972, in Sioux City. They lived in Sioux City until 1978, when they moved to Gilcrest, Colo. They lived there until 1995, when they moved to LaSalle, Colo. She had worked at North Colorado Medical Center for 25 years.

She enjoyed camping, walking, gardening, bicycling and loved being around her family, especially spending time with her granddaughter, Rachelle.

Survivors include her husband, Joe E. Matthew of LaSalle, Colo.; a son and his wife, Jake and Jacqui Matthews of Greeley, Colo.; a daughter, Jessica Matthews and Abel Flores of Greeley; three brothers and their wives, Mike and Rebecca Post of Hinton, Iowa, Dennis and Terri Post of Sioux City and Patrick and Nancy Post of Parker Heights, Texas; and a granddaughter, Rachelle Flores.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandparents.
