Marion L. Harder, 73, of Sioux City died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at North Ridge Care Center in New Hope, Minn., following a brief illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Riverside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Charles Wolff officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Marion was born April 5, 1932, in Ticonic, Iowa, the daughter of Don and Mabel (Hart) Sheesley. She graduated from high school in Onawa, Iowa.

She married Oscar O. Harder on Sept. 27, 1952, in Elk Point, S.D. He died in January 1994, in Sioux City. She had lived in the Riverside area of Sioux City for more than 50 years. She was a homemaker for most of her life.

She was a longtime member of Riverside Lutheran Church. She volunteered at Casa de Paz Nursing Home for many years. She dearly loved her cat, Mitzy, and enjoyed bird watching.

Survivors include three children, Fred Harder of Johnston, Iowa, Kathy and her husband, Andy Harris of Hilton Head, S.C., and Dennis Harder and his wife, Jean of Maple Grove, Minn.; three grandsons, Chad, Brad and Eric, Harder, all of Maple Grove, Minn.; and a great-granddaughter, Jaedyn Kelly of Bloomington, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar Harder; and a daughter-in-law, Carol Harder.

Pallbearers will be Chad Harder, Brad Harder, Eric Harder, Butch Langhoff, Robert Clark and Kelly VanBuskirk.

Memorials in her name may be directed to the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center.
