DANBURY, Iowa -- Alma Loretto McBride, 105, of Battle Creek, Iowa, formerly of Danbury, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, with the Rev. Terry Roder officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Holstein, Iowa.

Alma was born May 8, 1900, the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Smith) McBride, on the family farm northeast of Danbury. She received her education in Danbury, graduating from St. Patrick's Academy in 1918. She furthered her education at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. She went on to teach in Nebraska, Wyoming and Nevada. She retired in Henderson, Nev., in 1965, and returned to Danbury in 1991. She entered Willow Dale Wellness Village in August 2001.

She was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Danbury.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Wilfred, her twin, Albert "Toby" and Walter "Spec"; and two sisters, Florence and Elizabeth "Sister Theresa."
