Lucile Beatrice Perley, 85, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Third Presbyterian Church, with Jennifer Santer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. , at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Perley was born Feb. 7, 1921, in Sioux City, the daughter of Jess Peter and Marie Christina Lorenzen. She was a lifelong Sioux City resident. She graduated from East High School in 1938.

She was united in marriage to Ivan Perley on May 6, 1941. She was employed with Blue Valley Creamery for a short time, then with Wincharger during World War II. After the war, she stayed at home to care for her three children. After the children were older, she went to work for Linda Lee Hallmark Card Shop, retiring in 1986.

She was a loving member of Third Presbyterian Church, where she served on many boards, taught Sunday School for many years and was active in the women's associations serving as president for a term. She also served as a chairman of her circle.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Skip and Cathy Perley of Sioux City; two daughters, Barb Pittman of Sioux City and Babette and Daryl Lahrs of Bronson, Iowa; a sister, June Mink of Jasper, Mo.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Bonnie Lee Perley in early childhood; two brothers, Leighton Lorenzen of Sioux City and Vernon "Bud" Lorenzen of Iowa City, Iowa; and a sister, Carol May Hulce of Ventura, Calif.

Memorials in her name may be directed to the family or Third Presbyterian Church.
