LYONS, Neb. -- Mabel Preston Smith, 97, of Lyons died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, in Lyons.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at New Life Assembly of God Church in Lyons. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Pelan Funeral Services in Lyons.

Survivors include two sons, Paul "Bud" (Karen) Preston of Urbandale, Iowa, and David (Esther) Preston of Sioux City; three daughters, Darlene Page of Waterloo, Iowa, Ardyce Castle of Wheat Ridge, Colo., and Sharon (Bruce) Johnson of Sioux City; a stepson, Marlin Smith of Lyons; a stepdaughter, Rachel Anderson of Prairie Farm, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to New Life Assembly of God and the Logan Valley Manor.
