MOVILLE, Iowa -- Lily Laura Flewelling, 84, of Moville died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Moville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ed Frank officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Lily was born June 7, 1921, in Hornick, Iowa, the daughter of Earl Benton and Minnie Emaline (Clift) Johnston. She was raised and attended school in Hornick, graduating from Hornick High School. She continued her education at Iowa Business College in Des Moines.

She married Tom Flewelling on March 15, 1945, in Sloan, Iowa. Together, they lived in California while Tom served in the U.S. Navy. After Tom's honorable discharge, the couple moved to the Moville area. She was a bookkeeper for the family business, Flewelling Sand and Gravel, Earthmoving and their farming operation. Tom died July 23, 1986.

Before her husband passed away, she enjoyed traveling and camping. She was a member of Moville United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, doing puzzles and reading.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Stanley and Gloria Flewelling and Marvin and Donna Flewelling, all of Moville; a daughter and her husband, Bonny and William Blair of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren, Mark Joseph Blair, Brent Flewelling, Tina Flewelling, Holly and her husband, Derek Sobelman, Angie Campbell, David Flewelling and his wife, Linda and Emily and her husband, Jeremy Bellis; seven great-grandchildren, Lyndzy Flewelling, Alyssa Sobelman, Hunter Campbell, Bennett Campbell, Andelin Bellis, Laken Bellis and Abby Flewelling; a sister, Edna Stow of Palmdale, Calif.; a brother and his wife, Roy and Beth Johnston of Sioux City; and a sister-in-law, Carrie Johnston of Smithland, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandchild, Trevis Flewelling; a grandson-in-law, Corey Campbell; a sister, Mary Seiger; two brothers, Walter and Lloyd Johnston; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Seiger.
