William "Bill" Burwell Jr. 1927 - 2006

William "Bill" Burwell Jr., 78, of Chicago, Ill., and recently moved to rural Sioux City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

William Burwell Jr. was born Nov. 13, 1927, in Henry, Ill., the son of William and Jennie (Hagi) Burwell. He was raised and educated in Kewanee, Ill. He was a handy-man, who worked mainly in the Chicago area. His specialty was repairing televisions. With his failing health, he was brought to Sioux City from Chicago to live with his granddaughter, Vicki. Hospice of Siouxland also helped with care for him and his family during his last days.

He was a loving grandfather, who gave his love unconditionally and took great interest in their lives. He will be missed.

He is survived by a daughter, Joyce Zawacki of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Samuel Mathis of Murray, Ky., Vicki and her husband, Dean Kruse of Sioux City, Katy Zawacki of Sioux City, Lynn Zawacki of Virginia, and Jessica Zawacki of Sioux City; five great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter, Savannaha; and his long time love of his life, Clara Ulving of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and all his brothers and sisters.
