Susan Elaine Ketelsen, 51, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, Iowa. Burial will be in Mount St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon.

Susan was born Aug. 26, 1954, in Sioux City, the daughter of Chris and Evelyn (Meyer) Ketelsen. She attended Anthon-Oto School and graduated from Lawton-Bronson High School in 1973. She graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College's truck driving course. She lived in different places throughout her life. She worked at a number of different jobs and was unemployed at the time of her death.

She enjoyed reading, making scrapbooks, movies and coloring. For most of her life, she belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary McNiff Unit 389 in Anthon.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Justin and Julie Clausen of Norfolk, Neb.; her mother, Evelyn Ketelsen of Lawton, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Bernie and Barb Ketelsen of Correctionville, Iowa; and three sisters, Lena and her husband, Ron Whitesell of Correctionville, Iowa, Louise Guthridge of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Luci and her husband, Wayne Mead of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her father, Chris Ketelsen; maternal grandparents, Lena and Bernard Meyer; and paternal grandparents, Catherine and Christian Ketelsen.
