Terald G. "Terry" Winters, 65, of Kimberling City, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, departed from this life Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at his residence with family and friends by his side.

A dockside memorial services was held, with family and friends present, Nov. 17 on Table Rock Lake. Cremation was under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home -- South in Kimberling City.

Terry was born April 2, 1942, in Sioux City, the son of Dubel and Fern (Perfect) Winters. He attended Sioux City schools. At the age of 18, he joined the U.S. Navy. He served our country for eight years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. While living in Sioux City, he worked for R.W. Rice Co. until settling in Kimberling City in 1989.

Upon his retirement, he enjoyed life at the lake with friends and family. In addition to serving the lake community, he loved fishing and spent much of his time building, flying and even crashing his RC planes.

Survivors include two daughters, Ilene Rispoli of Nixa, Mo., and Brandi Winters of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Judy Gomez and Barbara (Roy) Sampson of Sioux City; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is now reunited with his heavenly family including his parents; grandparents; a son, Terald Winters Jr.; and two brothers, Dennis Winters and Dubel Winters Jr.

In memory of Terry, the family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ramaekers with the V.A. Hospital in Omaha, who fought the fight with Terry to the best of his ability and to Julie Crone, his hospice nurse, with Hospice Access Care of Branson, Mo., who stood by his side unconditionally, and to all his friends for the care and loving support bestowed upon him during this difficult time.
