Gloria Praster, 83, of Sioux City died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Sunrise Retirement Community.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Merro Muller officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Mrs. Praster was born Feb. 16, 1924, in South Sioux City, the daughter of Harry and Edna (Moffitt) Miller. She attended school in Ponca, Neb.

She married Floyd A. Praster on April 22, 1946, in Elk Point, S.D. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1976. She was employed as a waitress at Harry's Hamburgers, Zenith for two years and Old Town Cafe, retiring in 1985.

In her free time, she loved gardening and was always proud of her flowers. Most of all, she loved spending time with her great-grandson, Christopher, who could always make her smile.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Jim and Dorothy Praster of North Platte, Neb., Joe and Lorrie Praster of Sioux City and Scott and Karen Praster of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Sara and Larry Bodlak of Sioux City; a brother, Harold Miller of South Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Craig; a daughter, Frieda Praster; two sisters, Frances and Alberta; and two brothers, Ralph and Bill Miller.

Pallbearers will be her sons, Jim Praster, Joe Praster, Scott Praster, her son-in-law, Larry Bodlak, and grandsons, Mike Praster and Nick Praster. Honorary pallbearer will be her great-grandson, Christopher Praster.
