Wilma Jewel Brown, 86, passed away unexpectedly at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center in Correctionville, Iowa. Services were on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 1:00 pm at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Taylor, Nebraska with Rev. Joel Rathbun officiating. Burial was in the Moulton Cemetery Taylor, Nebraska. Visitation was on Thursday November 29, 2007 from 6:00 pm lo 8:00 pm with the family present at the Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville, Iowa.

Wilma was born February 2, 1921 to Elmer and Elva (Hoobler) Dunbar at Almeria, Nebraska. Wilma graduated high school at Taylor, NE and earned her Nursing degree from the University of Nebraska, class of 194S. In 1955 she became a Member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists for the State of Nebraska. Prior to her Nursing career, she taught country school.

Wilma married Maurice W. (Morey) Brown, June 10, 1967 in Plainview, NE. She and Morey were partners in business with Morey's Food Center and Brown's Variety in Correctionville until Morey's death in 1983.

She was an active member and past president of Chapter CPP.E.O. Being a member of the Church of Christ - Correctionville, she taught Sunday school for a number of years, and was the treasurer for many years.

Wilma enjoyed playing golf, Bridge club, sewing, traveling and being with family and friends.

Survivors include two stepchildren; Jane Stalnaker, Huntsville, AL and Larry (Dianne) Brown, Correctionville, IA. Three step-grandchildren; Chad (Angela) Hester, Birmingham, AL, Nancy (Shane) Hartung, Sioux Falls, SD, and Robert (Jill) Brown, Correctionville, IA. Eight step-great grandchildren; Ashley, Josie and Kylee Hester; Natalie and Nathan Hartung, Kaitlyn, Kelsie and Allison Brown; a sister Ethel Palmer of Taylor, NE; two sisters-in-laws Bonnie Dunbar of Taylor and Hazel Dunbar of Lincoln, NE.

She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice W. Brown; four brothers, Earl, Mark, Arnold and Allen; her parents, Elmer and Elva Dunbar, father and mother-in-laws Earl and Ione Brown, and brother and sister-in-laws Rolland and Melba Brown.
