Devoted to his family and his practice, Dr. Harrington, 83, of Lansing, Michigan and formerly of Danbury, Iowa, died on January 17, 2006, from complications following an accident.

Visitation and a scripture Rosary were held on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Tiffany Funeral Home in Lansing, Michigan.

The funeral liturgy was held on Friday, January 20, 2006, at St. Mary Cathedral with Msgr. Michael D. Murphy presiding. The Rite of Committal was held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Lansing.

Born on May 4, 1922 in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, Dr. Harrington was a graduate of Wayne Medical School and served in the Air Force at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He began his practice in Danbury, Iowa before going to Lansing, Michigan, to begin his family practice for 25 years. He retired in 1988. He was a member of St. Gerard Church and later a member of St. Mary Cathedral.

Our father lived the gospel message through his care for his patients and love for his family and friends, stated Moira Vilardo, his daughter.

Surviving were his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann (Kehoe) Harrington; his 11 children, Moira (Louis) Vilardo, Kevin (Cathy) Harrington, Kathleen Harrington, Mary Lou (Glen) Easterbrook, Brian (Cheryl) Harrington, Shelia Harrington, Deirdre (Paul) Costabile, Sean (Annette) Harrington, Dennis (Lore) Harrington, Mark (Anne) Harrington and Conn (Cathy) Harrington; 18 grandchildren, Marisa (Steve), Andrea, Lia, Ryan, Leslie (Trey), Sean, Ross, Lauren, Cara, Dustin, Afton, Brianna, Louis, Keegan, Alina, Casey, Tuscan, and Eve; and 2 brothers, Timothy (Mary) Harrington of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Bernard (Theresa) Harrington of Appleton, Wisconsin.

Contribution may be made to Sparrow Specialty Hospital Foundation or St. Mary Cathedral in memory of Dr. Harrington.

He has touched our lives and will be loved always.
