DuWayne Ernest Rich, 85, of Sioux City died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, after a short stay at Sunrise Manor.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Antony Ellard officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 to 8 p.m., today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Mr. Rich was born April 29, 1920, in Sioux City, where he was a resident his whole life. He was the son of Ernest and Blanche (Olde) Rich. He attended Emerson Grade School East Middle and graduated from East High School in 1938.

He married Margaret Tolmie on June 8, 1945, in Sioux City. They started a family along with a new business. He was the owner of Peters Park Standard Gas Station for 10 years. In 1956, he moved his business to the Lakeport Conoco, sharing it with his brother, Calvin, to Rich Brother's Lakeport Conoco. Together, they ran the station until his retirement in 1986. Margaret died in July 2002.

He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was a active member, serving on the trustee board for many years.

Survivors include his sons, DuWayne and Laurie Rich and Jerry and Sue Rich, all of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Robyn Rich, Jody and Scott Wilcox, Michael Rich and Matthew Rich; and three great-grandchildren, Noah Rubida, Alexis Wilcox and Caleb Wilcox.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Calvin Rich; sisters, Felma Kottman and Katherine Silverio; and a great-granddaughter, Gracie Ann Wilcox.
