JACKSON, Neb. | Marguerite M. O'Neill, 94, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jackson, with the Rev. Paul Albenesius officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with family present 5 to 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are with Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Marguerite was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Sioux City, the daughter of Ernest and Mary Ann (Sejnoha) Sammons. She grew up in Sioux City, and graduated from Sioux City Central High School.

Marguerite married Alfred Brienzo May 2, 1946, in Sioux City. He preceded her in death Jan. 8, 1991. Marguerite married Erwin O'Neill Aug. 4, 2002, in Jackson.

Marguerite was a teacher's aide for Jefferson (S.D.) High School for 15 years.

Marguerite and Erwin were active members of the South Sioux City Senior Center and St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where Marguerite was part of the Altar Society. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was a beautiful singer, and was passionate about music and her family. Marguerite enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking.

Survivors include her husband, Erwin O'Neill of Jackson; children, Robert (Corneisha) Brienzo of Spring, Texas, Gary (Ann) Brienzo of Lincoln, Neb., and Tina (Elliotte) Saunders of Jackson; stepchildren, Vicky (Larry) Jacobsen, Dawn O'Neill, Debbie (Doug) Smith and Larry O'Neill; and grandchildren, Michael and Anthony Brienzo, and Desiree and Delaney Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred Brienzo; four brothers; two sisters; and stepson, Dave O'Neill.
