Mildred Frances (Yockey) Wycoff, 82, of Moville, died Friday, August 5, 2016, at Whispering Creek Assisted Living, Sioux City, Iowa.

Known as "Millie" to many, she was born on a farm west of Anthon, May 29, 1934, to Orval E. and Marie (McNamara) Yockey where she spent her childhood years, graduating from Anthon High School in 1952. She attended St. Joseph Nursing School in Sioux City and graduated in 1955. She married Marvin Wycoff on October 5, 1955. Their union was blessed with three children: John, Dan, and Geri. They made their home in Moville until one year ago when they moved to assisted living at Whispering Creek in Sioux City.

Millie's joy in life was giving of herself and her time to help others. She was active in scouting, the Moville Rescue Squad, and served as the church organist for many years. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City as a staff RN for many years, and at Marian Health Center in a supervisory position in Neurology rehabilitation, finishing her career in Obstetrics until her retirement in 1993. For many years, she spent time visiting nursing homes and offering her time and talent doing sing-a-longs for the residents.

Survivors include Marvin, her husband of 61 years; two sons, John and wife Cindy of Lansing, Michigan, Dan and Special friend, Linda Hennen of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and daughter, Geri and her husband Jeff of Le Mars, Iowa; eight grandchildren; Stephanie, Shanna, Sarah, Jennie, Mike, Kyle, Kelsi, and Kenzie; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Karlsrud of Lakeville, Minnesota; and special cousin, Johnny Yockey of Moville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Calista Dunnington and JoAnn Blessing, and a brother, Philip Yockey.
