SIOUX CITY | Mary L. (Charbonneau) Nyreen, 52, of Alcester, S.D., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2016 at her residence.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nathaniel Lutheran Church in Alcester, with the Rev. Kevin Jensen officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church in Alcester. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Mary was born on March 18, 1964, in Sioux City, the daughter of Edmond and Rozella (Peck) Charbonneau. She graduated from Heelan High School in 1982. While in Sioux City, Mary worked at Billy Boy's Drive-In in Riverside and as an assistant manager at McDonald's.

Mary moved to Alcester in 1998 and married Roger Nyreen on Dec. 14, 2001. For 15 years, Mary worked at Casey's in Hawarden, retiring due to her illness. Family was number one to Mary, followed by her customers; she loved taking care of everyone.

Survivors include her husband, Roger and a son, Daniel Edmond, both of Alcester; siblings, Michael Charbonneau of Alcester, Mark (Brenda) Charbonneau of Sioux City, and Melissa (Kevin) Welty of Sioux City; nieces and nephews, Heather, Amanda, Jeffrey, Emily, Elizabeth and Abigail; and great nieces and nephews, Ryan, Cooper, Vayda, and Hadley.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
