SIOUX CITY | Donald D. “Don” Rodman, 79, of Sioux City died Sunday, July 31, 2016, at hospital in Omaha.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Wheatland Presbyterian Church, 11719 120th St., Breda, Iowa. Burial will be in Wheatland Presbyterian Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post Chalon 262. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Donald Dean Rodman was born on April 12, 1937, in Lake View, Iowa, the son of Hurley and Bernice (Auen) Rodman. Don graduated in 1955 from Wall Lake High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until 1959.

On Nov. 14, 1959, Don was united in marriage to Carol Mitchell. Don worked at a local garage in Carnarvon, Iowa, and later in the construction field. Don started working for Iowa Beef Packers which meant several moves, until settling in Sioux City in 1968. He retired from IBP in 1999.

Don enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.

Don is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, David (Jill) Rodman of Sergeant Bluff, and Dan (Cathy King) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two daughters, Judy (Doug) Schindel of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Mary Rodman of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jim (Cheryl) Rodman of Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
