Patricia A. Jansen, 71, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, in Sioux City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Revs. Dan Guenther and Patrick O'Kane officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 4 p.m., the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Patricia was born July 19, 1935, in Royal, Iowa, to Willie and Catherine (Ihry) Lacey. She grew up in Royal but during the school year she lived in Alton, Iowa, where she attended school and later graduated. Patricia then attended Briar Cliff, where she received her teaching degree.

On June 16, 1956, she married Elvin Jansen in Royal. She taught at Aurelia and Salix, Iowa and Worthington, Minn. before joining the Catholic schools in Sioux City, where she taught at Sacred Heart and Immaculate Conception. After retiring in the early 1980s, she helped her husband in the lawn service. She volunteered with the script program.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Patricia enjoyed waiting on her grandchildren, walking, attending daily mass and praying the rosary. She also enjoyed collecting Precious Moments.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Elvin of Sioux City; three sons, Rory Jansen and his wife, Mary and their children, Jill, Jeffrey and Josh of Sioux City; Ron Jansen and his wife, Ann and their children, Emily and Christopher of Sheldon, Iowa and Roger Jansen and his wife, Roxanne and their children, Allison, Taylor and Austin of Lawton, Iowa; a daughter, Renee Niles and her husband, Rick and their children, Brooke and her fiance, Jeff Happe, Bridgette, Kelsey and Connor of Sioux City; a brother, Howard Lacey of Algona, Iowa; and a sister, Anita Novak and her husband, Rudy of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Catherine; and a grandson, Ty.
