Jeannine Marie Schaner, 77, of Sioux City entered into eternal life Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael J. Erpelding officiating. Private family graveside services will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, where condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Jeannine Marie Maulson was born April 4, 1929, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Agnes (Cass) Maulson. She earned her associates degree in cosmetology at the beauty school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She married James C. Schaner on April 12, 1947, in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 2002, in Sioux City. She was a lifetime resident of Leeds in Sioux City. She was a beautician and a volunteer teachers aide in the Sioux City Public School System for 20 years.

She was very involved in St. Michael's Catholic Church and later St. Joseph Catholic Church. They were active supporters of St. Jude's Children Hospital. Her family was everything to her. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling. She also enjoyed water aerobics.

Survivors include four sons, Dale (Janet) Schaner of Apple Valley, Minn., Gary Schaner of Vermillion, S.D., Gregg (Monica) Schaner of Columbus, Ohio, and Dean Schaner of Bellaire, Texas; a daughter, Debra (Tom) McKee of Elk Horn, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marlene Sackett of Denver, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James C. Schaner; and a sister, Janice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Big Sioux Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in Jeannine's name.
