Charles E. Geeron, 76, of Sioux City died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Louis Arts officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today, with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mr. Geeron was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Sioux City, the son of Sylvester and Anna M. (Perius) Geeron. He lived most of his life in Sioux City. He graduated from high school in Sioux City and he then attended a business college.

He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II and served in the Pacific Theater. He returned to Sioux City after his military service, where he married Carolyn Hedlund. She died Sept. 19, 1995, in Sioux City. He worked for the Catholic Extension Magazine. He later worked as a chemist for Siouxland Testing Laboratories.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus-Epiphany Council 743, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. He was an active member of the Siouxland Senior Center.

Survivors include two brothers, Jerry J. and Peter Geeron, both of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Ann M. and Nick Topf of Carroll, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Vince, Steve, and James Farrer and Dennis Dow.
