Jack R. Searls, 59, of Sioux City died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Cremation will follow the service Saturday. Private graveside services will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Mr. Searls was born April 20, 1943, in East St. Louis, Mo., the son of Homer T. and Eva (Garrett) Searls. He served in the U.S. Army.

He married Sandra K. Dixon on Sept. 20, 1994, in Sioux City. He had been a truck driver for Metz Baking Co. for several years. He had been employed with Service Master for the past eight years.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed motorcycling.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy; three daughters, Tammy Smith, Jackie Bauseti and Kelly Searls, all of Washington; a stepdaughter and her husband, Tammy and Bill Simmons of Carterville, Ill.; three stepsons and their wives, Dean and Robin Reynolds of Sioux City, Todd and Holly White of Greeley, Colo., and Shawn and Jody White of Lincoln, Neb.; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.
