Dorothy M. Anderson, 84, lifelong Sioux City resident, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at a Sioux City retirement home following a brief illness.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Krishen Persaud officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.

Mrs. Anderson was born April 12, 1918, in Sioux City, to Edward and Hannah (Brostrom) Carlson. She attended Sioux City schools, graduating from Central High School in 1936.

She married Henry E. Anderson on July 15, 1939, in Sioux City.

She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for several years. She also was a member of Mary Circle at St. Luke Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Henry; two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Beck Amundson of Baraboo, Wis., and Jane and Bruce Johnson of Del Mar, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Melissa Amundson of Chicago, Ryan Amundson with the U.S. Air Force at Luke Air Base in Phoenix, Ariz., and Noel Johnson and his wife, Jodi of San Marcos, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roy Carlson; and a grandson, Eric Johnson.
