Clara A. Wobken, 90, of Sioux City died Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at a Des Moines hospital.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dean Sudman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Mrs. Wobken was born Jan. 18, 1912, in Laurel, Neb., the daughter of Peter R. and Regina (Walters) Evers. Following high school, she came to Sioux City and attended Nettleton Business Training College.

She married A. George Wobken on June 21, 1945, in Sioux City. She worked at various businesses in Sioux City and retired about 1972 from McManus Greene Insurance Agency. Mr. Wobken died May 12, 1998, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 65 years and sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was volunteer for 27 years at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center. She and her husband, entertained at nursing home for 30 years. She enjoyed music of all kinds and being with people.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Clifford and Gayla Wobken of Urbandale, Iowa, and Terry and Nina Wobken of Minneapolis; a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Gene Kruse of Nixa, Mo.; two sisters, Lil and her husband, Manley Shook of Spanaway, Wash., and Gustie Loeb of Laurel, Neb.; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
