Agnes A. Brannan, 80, of Sioux City died Monday, May 13, 2002, at her residence.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bruce A. Lawler officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. today at Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel. Visitation will resume 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, with a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at the church.

Mrs. Brannan was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Crofton, Neb., the daughter of Benjamin and Louise (Waesterwald) Hegge. She was raised in the Crofton area and lived around Hartington, Neb. for a few years. She moved to Sioux City in 1957, then moved to Spencer, Iowa, in 1958. She returned to Sioux City in 1960.

She married Herman Becker on March 14, 1946, in Crofton. He died Sept. 30, 1950. She married Arnold G. Brannan on July 7, 1956, in Crofton.

She worked as a clerk for Crofton Hardware and later for Sears in Sioux City. She also worked at the Long Star and Hilton Hotel before becoming self-employed.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved people, playing cards and playing the nickel slot machines. She enjoyed watching all of her grandchildren's baseball games and feeding her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold of Sioux City; two sons, Gary Becker of Fort Collins, Colo., and Darrel Becker and his wife, Marcia, of Jefferson, S.D.; two daughters and their husbands, Kay and Barry Moreland and Michelle and Carl Combs, all of Sioux City; four sisters, Lizzie Eickoff of Fordyce, Neb., and Dorie Tramp, Irene Ausdemore and Lavina and her husband, Emil Plantenberg, all of Crofton; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Eddie, Alvie, Elmer and Gerald; and her sisters, Hilda, Bernice, Geraldine and an infant sisters.

Pallbearers will be Troy, Clint and Wayne Becker, Jay Brannan, Justin and Brad Combs and Chad Moreland. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Albertson, Brian Moreland, Shane Sweeney and Lucas Combs.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
