Janet Elaine Budden, 82, formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, May 3, 2002, in Magnolia, Texas, following a lengthy illness.

Graveside services were held May 8 in Klein Memorial Park in Magnolia.

Janet was born in Lincoln, Neb., on Feb. 9, 1920. She graduated from Lincoln High School.

She was a member of Catholic Daughters and America, BPO Elk Does and was an active volunteer in the community and the Sioux City hospitals.

She is survived by three daughters, Victoria Wachholtz of North Platte, Neb., Marlene King of Magnolia, and Jill Chambers of Peachtree City, Ga.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother; and three sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Budden.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
