Louise R. Trudell, 89, of Sioux City died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Marvin J. Boes officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Trudell was born April 30, 1913, in Santee, Neb., the daughter of Mary Campbell. She graduated from Santee Normal Training School in Santee.

She married Valentine Trudell on Feb. 27, 1937, in Yankton, S.D. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1945. She was employed with Goodwill Industries for several years, Sioux City American Indian Center and the Villa Bingo. Mr. Trudell died Aug. 28, 1996, in Sioux City.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Goodwill Auxiliary, Iowa State Extension Services and served on the board for the NAATP. She enjoyed playing the piano, crossword puzzles and her family.

Survivors include four daughters, Alma Gleiser of Sioux City, Mary and her husband, Paul Rosene of McCook Lake, S.D., Doris Sandbulte of Sioux City, and Valetta and her husband, Donald Hauge of Sioux City; a half sister; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Amber Lynn Gleiser.

Pallbearers will be Darin and Doug Berg, Ed, Ray and Ray Campbell II, Larry, Rick and Ron Gleiser and David and Steve Hauge. Honorary pallbearers will be Kristi Hauge, Stacey (Hauge) Tanner, Terri Roehrich and Pam Heckart.
