SIOUX CITY | Jason Matthew Kinney, 40, formerly of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 23, 2016, in Escondido, Calif.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Waterbury Funeral Service, 4125 Orleans Ave., in Sioux City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with family present. Lunch will be served immediately following the service.

Born in Sioux City on Dec. 9, 1975, Jason was currently residing in Escondido.

Jason loved his family and friends unconditionally, and loved to play pranks on them, but was the first to offer love, comfort and advice to anyone who needed it. Jason’s favorite pastime was watching football. His favorite team was the Indianapolis Colts, and his favorite player was Peyton Manning, both with the Colts and when he went to the Denver Broncos. Anyone attending his memorial service is encouraged to wear your favorite college, or pro team football jersey.

Jason is survived by his three sons, Jordan Kinney of Sioux City, Elijah and Rylan Kinney of Ellettsville, Ind.; one sister, Tricia Kinney-Anderson and her husband, Demetrius Anderson of Murrieta, Calif.; his parents, Matt Kinney and LeAnn Miller-Kinney of Escondido; his grandmothers, Virginia Kinney of Omaha, and MaryAnn Miller of Sioux City; his favorite cousin, best buddy and brother from another mother, Josh Buser of Lincoln, Neb.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and a multitude of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jack Kinney and Leo M. Miller, and by his favorite uncle, and partner in pranks, Michael Miller.

The Good Lord will have his hands full dealing with these two being back together again.
