SIOUX CITY | Deborah Lynn Wilshire, 61, of Hemet, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, went to be with her heavenly father on Aug. 14, 2016, following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1201 West Clifton Ave., in Sioux City. Visitation will be noon until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. A luncheon will follow.

Debby was born on March 2, 1955, the daughter of Helen and Howard Wilshire. She graduated from North High School in 1974. She worked at Westwood Nursing Home for 18 years. She also worked in daycare for 10 years.

She enjoyed books, collecting lighthouses, dolphins and seashells. Her love of her nieces and nephews was evident with the numerous pictures on her refrigerator. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 1981.

Survivors include her sisters, Cindy (Randy) Underwood formerly of California and currently of Sioux City, Linda (Pat) Hall of Sioux City, and Helen (Terry) Taylor of Smyrna, Tenn.; her brothers, Bill of Sioux City, and Howard (Marty) of New Hampton, Iowa; and many dearly beloved nieces and nephews, taking the place in her life of children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dennis; a sister, Jean Dowdy; a niece, Jillian; and a nephews, Jordan and Joshua.
