10 November 1947Former Journal Man Died; Burial Here Wednesday
Sioux Falls—George B. Milam, 56, for several years a salesman here and previously an advertising man and show promotion manager, died Sunday at a Sioux Falls hospital after a long illness.
Services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Cathedral. Committal services will be held at noon at Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City.
He was born July 4, 1891 at Sioux City and worked on the Sioux City Journal for many years until 1925 when he entered the show business. He married Ethel Kneer October 7, 1935 in Sioux Falls. The couple traveled from here until 1941.
Survivors include the widow, a sister, Mrs. George Glass, Burbank, S.D. and a brother, James, Chicago. He was a fourth degree knight; Knights of Columbus, Sioux City Council.
