Oldest Danbury Resident Dies At Iowa City

Danbury, Iowa—Special: Alva Stanton, 91, Danbury’s oldest resident, died at an Iowa City hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Danbury Methodist Church with Rev. Leonard W. Rowse in charge. Burial will be in Danbury Cemetery.

Mr. Stanton was born in New York March 7, 1852. He came to Danbury from Benton County, Iowa, in 1882 and lived here for 61 years. He married Miss Ella Patterson June 14, 1874, at Wyoming, Iowa. She died in 1927.

Mr. Stanton practiced his trade as a mason and cement worker until his last illness.
