PIERSON, Iowa | Doris J. Ohlendorf, 83, of Pierson, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Kingsley, Iowa. The Rev. Duane Miesner will officiate. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley. Online condolences may be sent to www.rohdefh.com.

Doris JoAnn Ohlendorf was born on May 16, 1933, in Le Mars, Iowa, to Richard and Catherine (Reelfs) Dirks. She attended country school and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1951. After graduation, she attended NBT business school and worked for Buell & Winters Engineering.

She married Ron Ohlendorf in 1959. Doris and Ron started out farming in the Marcus, Iowa area, moving twice before settling on their current farmstead, where they have spent the last 47 years farming and raising their family. Doris loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her life, and she was deeply loved.

Doris is survived by her husband, Ron; her children, Ryan Ohlendorf, Cheryl (Alan) Rolling, Brad (Cindy) Ohlendorf, Jane Ohlendorf, and Julie Ohlendorf; her grandchildren, Nick (Dani) Rolling, Kari (Chris) Weitl, Megan Ohlendorf, and Drew Ohlendorf; and her great-grandchildren, Caleb Slattery, Kaden Rolling, Gavin Rolling, and Benjamin Weitl. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. All were very dear to her.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Alice and Louis Ohlendorf; her sister, Evelyn Bartling; her sister, Lois Speichinger and her husband, Arnold; her sister, Marlys Huisman and her husband, Ed; her twin brother, Don Dirks and his wife, Alice; her niece, Katherine Huisman; her niece, Laurie Proskovec; and her grandnephew, Jason Proskovec.
