Death Claims Octogenarian

Morningside Women Is Dead Here at age of 82 Years

Infirmities attendant upon old age resulted in the death Tuesday morning of Mrs. Mary Coe Murnan, a resident of Woodbury County for the past 42 years, who died at her home, 1832 South Palmetto Street.

Mrs. Murnan died following a lingering illness. She was 82 years old In 1917 Mrs. Murnan came to Sioux City from Correctionville, Iowa and had lived here since. Prior to coming to Sioux City she had lived at Correctionville 32 years.

Born in England, Mrs. Murnan came to this country with her parents when she was only 18 months old. For a few years the family resided in Michigan, but later moved to Indiana. After a short residence in Indiana the family moved to Kankakee, Illinois, where she was married to William Murnan in 1864.

Six years later Mr. and Mrs. Murnan traveled by covered wagon to Cass County, Iowa where they resided for 15 years, when they moved to Correctionville. Mrs. Murnan was a member of Grace Methodist Church of Sioux City.

Surviving are two sons, R.F. Murnan and Ernest Murnan of Sioux City; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The body is at the homer pending funeral arrangements. Westcott’s undertaking firm is in charge.
