S.C. Merchant, Resident 28 Years, Dies

John MacNicol, 58, a grocer at 604 Iowa Street, died at a Sioux City hospital Wednesday.

Mr. MacNicol was born in Scotland August 26, 1868. He came to Chicago in 1898 and 11 years later moved to Sioux City.

Here he was employed in the Armour packing plant until 1922, when he went into the grocery business.

Surviving are his widow, Anna E. MacNicol and a son, William J of Sioux City.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, at the West Funeral home. Rev. E.F. Rippey will officiate.
