Last rites for Mrs. Marion Smith, 37 who committed suicide Wednesday by drowning in a cistern at her home at 3844 Jefferson Street, will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Perasso Bros., undertaking chapel.

Rev. A.J. Lynott of Leeds parish, will officiate. The body will be sent to Yankton, S.D. for further services and burial.

Ill health caused despondency and led Mrs. Smith to take her own life, it was said by Coroner J.H. Robbins. Mrs. Smith’s body was found by her maid, Christina Laydu, who saw it at the bottom of the 10 foot cistern.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her widower and four children.
