James A. Clark

An illness of one year proved fatal Sunday for James A. Clark, 82 year old, in his home, 1013 Newton Street. Mr. Clark had been a resident of this county 58 years.

Born in Manchester, Ohio, April 24, 1847, Mr. Clark lived there for several years before he moved to Illinois. Mr. Clark was married to Miss Emma Polk October 21, 1869. They moved to Woodbury County, settling near Holly Springs, where he lived until 1914, when he came to Sioux City.

Mr. Clark was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. of Hornick.

Surviving are: two sons, A.E. Clark of Sioux City and C.C. Clark of Holly Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Etha Beebe of Hornick; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at W. Harry Christy’s Funeral Chapel. Rev. J. Frank Reed, officiating. Interment was in Graceland Park Cemetery.
