SIOUX CITY | Pauline “Peg” Roder of Sioux City, formerly of Remsen, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016, at a local hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Sioux City. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Remsen, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Pauline “Peg” Margaret, daughter of Nicholas and Mildred (Garvin) Frank, was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Le Mars, Iowa. She grew up in Remsen, and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in 1948.

On Nov. 27, 1950, Peg was united in marriage with Jerome “Jerry” Roder at St. Mary’s Church in Remsen. Nine children were born to this union. Peg and Jerry farmed near Remsen. Peg was a stay-at-home mom and later worked at the Golden Pheasant. In 1993, the couple sold the farm and Peg moved to Sioux City to be closer to Jerry when he entered a nursing home due to declining health.

Peg was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and enjoyed flowers, gardening, and volunteering these talents at Queen of Peace.

Peg is survived by three daughters, Sue (Fred) Brown of Waterbury, Neb., Gerianne (George) Olson of Sioux City, and Jan (Steve) Green of Sioux City; three sons, Nicholas Roder of Sioux City, Steven (Sandi) Roder of Remsen, and Dan (Judy) Roder of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome “Jerry” Roder; three sons, twins, Patrick and Michael, and David; a son-in-law, Thomas Klein; and a sister, Betty (Jack) Willis.
