SIOUX CITY | Patricia Ann (Mongold) Mead, 81, of Yankton, S.D., formerly of Sioux City, and Jefferson, S.D., passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at Sister James Care Center in Yankton.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Patricia was born on Feb. 14, 1935, in Sioux City, to Mervin Mongold and Princess Pauline (Wren) Farran. She married the love of her life, Gene R. Mead, on May 19, 1952, in Luverne, Minn. Patricia was a cook/waitress until her retirement. She enjoyed crafting and spending time with her family

Those left to honor her memory include her five children, Richard (Tracy) Mead of Storm Lake, Iowa, James Mead of Sioux City, Cynthia Mead of Yankton, S.D., Ronald (Colleen) Mead of Elk Point, S.D., and Shele (Joel) Anderson of Sioux City; 15 grandchildren, Roshelle Yocum, Walter Mead, Elizabeth Mead, Danny Sullivan, Shannon Sullivan, Christine Spaulding, Allison Mead, Jennifer Thode, Selina Anderson, Austin Anderson, Richie Gabel, Alethea Gabel, Christy Watkins, Randa Hoover and Dustin Fox; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; and sister, Barbara J. Strong.
