SIOUX CITY | Sandra Sue Dillinger, 72, of West Jefferson, N.C., a former Sioux City resident, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 1801 Morningside Avenue, in Sioux City. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home

Sandra was born and raised in Sioux City. She graduated from Central High School with the class of 1963.

While in high school, she met her loving husband of 52 years on a blind date. Clifford and Sandra were married on June 17, 1963. Sandra worked at Zenith for 12 years until the plant closed. She then became a stay-at-home mom to her daughter and started an in-home daycare where she cared for many wonderful children up until her retirement in 2014, after 34 years.

Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, cooking, baking, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by husband, Clifford Dillinger; her daughter, Tina Painter and her husband, Roy; her granddaughters, Marissa and Zoey Lane ;and her brother, Earl Blackford and his wife, Irene.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mildred Blackford; her sister, Beverly Hangman; and her sister, Marilyn Blackford.
