Funeral services for Mrs. L.C. Moore, 85, who died Saturday, October 25, 1947, in Sioux City after a long illness were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Anthon Methodist Church with Rev. C.B. Wittstruck officiating. Burial was in the Peiro Cemetery under direction of Hudgel Funeral Home.

Margaret Ann McConnell was born near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, January 14, 1862, and came when she was six years old with her family to Appanoose Co., Iowa. There she was married to L.C. Moore August 2, 1881. After farming at York, Nebraska, eight years Mr. and Mrs. Moore and family moved to Woodbury county in 1889 and made their home in the Peiro vicinity for 52 years. In 1941 they retired from the farm and moved to Anthon.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jennie Deist of Oral, South Dakota; a son, Frank, of Anthon; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Day of Madrid, Iowa, and Mrs. Emma Haggart of Jewell, Kansas.

Preceding her were her husband who died June 10, 1947, and a son Robert in 1919, and a daughter Ethel in 1939.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the Methodist Church for many years.
