Bode Lloyd, 18 of Kiron, died on Sunday, March 20.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 25, at Denison Community High School with burial at the Little Sioux Cemetery in Smithland.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at the National Guard Armory in Denison.

The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his father, Kevin; his mother, Suzanne, and step-father, Jesse; grandparents, Linden and Sharon, and step-grandmother, Deb; one brother, Tanner; one sister, Elizabeth; and two step-brothers, Brandon and Kelby.

Bode Lloyd: Crawford County teen dies in boat accident Sunday

DENISON, Iowa | A Kiron, Iowa, teenager died in a boating accident Sunday, authorities said.

The body of Bode Lloyd, 18, of Kiron, was recovered by dive teams nearly three hours after the boat he and two Denison teenagers were in capsized on a pond at 1369 Meeves Ridge Road near Dow City, Iowa, said a release issued by the Crawford County Sheriff's Office.

Lloyd, along with Isaac Deveraux and Bradley Meeves, both of Denison, were fishing on the pond when the boat capsized at about 3:30 p.m., causing all three to be thrown from the boat, the release said.

Deveraux and Meeves made several attempts to help Lloyd to shore, but were unsuccessful, said the release.

The Carroll, Iowa, and Denison dive teams, along with other emergency responders, were able to recover Lloyd's body at 6:30 p.m.

The incident is still under investigation.
