SIOUX CITY | Norma Lucille Bursick, 94, a longtime resident of Sioux City, passed away March 26, 2016, in Reno, Nevada. She had moved west a year ago to be with family.

She was born on May 12, 1921, in Blunt, S.D., to Louis and Anna Speulda. Norma also resided in Portland, Ore., when younger, where her two sons, Robert J. Bursick of Los Angeles, Calif., and Frank C. Bursick (Bea) of Reno, were born.

She was grateful for the fellowship she enjoyed at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Sioux City.

She is survived by her two sons; grandchildren, Amy R. Barrow (John) of Fort Mill, S.C., and Amanda L. Ripley of Reno; brother, Lloyd Speulda (Ellie) of Asheville, N.C.; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert C. Bursick; brother, Robert Speulda; and sisters, Mildred Waddell and June Schoby.

Thanks to her caregivers at Oasis Place and Gentiva Hospice.
