Former Resident of Correctionville Dies in Honolulu

Miss Edna B. Hart, 77, former Correctionville, Iowa, resident, died Sunday in a Honolulu hospital after an illness of three years, according to news received by her sister, Mrs. C.L. Rowse, 3322 Garretson Avenue.

Miss Hart, who was born in Kingston, Ont., Canada, moved to Correctionville with her family when she was 5 years old. She attended Correctionville School and taught her first term at the Ed Webster School, now Glen Ellen, near Sergeant Bluff. Later she went to Denver, Colo., and Seattle, Wash.

In 1906 she went to Hawaii for a vacation and made her home in Honolulu since that time. She operated a restaurant there during the First World War, and later managed the new army and navy Y.M.C.A. cafeteria, where she met many noted people.

Besides Mrs. Rowse, Miss Hart is survived by two brothers, H. Bert Hart and J. Burns Hart of Correctionville.

Funeral services will be held in Honolulu and the body cremated. The ashes will be sent to Correctionville to be buried in the family lot in the Correctionville cemetery.
