SIOUX CITY | Sharon A. Swift, 72, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at her residence.

Services will be 1 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Del Olivier of Augustana Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until service time today at the funeral home. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Sharon was born on Sept. 30, 1943, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Haddad (Mayme) Schnepf. She graduated from Remsen (Iowa) Union High School and NBT College. Sharon lived in Remsen until the age of 18, when she moved to Sioux City and remained a resident until her death.

Sharon married Barrie Swift on July 31, 1981, in Sioux City. She was employed with Mid American Energy until her retirement in 1995, after serving for 28 years as a gas clerk.

Sharon enjoyed the boat and WinnaVegas. She loved to joke around with family and friends. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Mrs. Swift was a 35-year member of AA.

She is survived by her husband, Barrie Swift of Sioux City; daughter, Stacey Rubio of Sioux City; stepson, Mike Swift and his wife, Kathy, of Olathe, Kan.; stepdaughter, Christal Kitto and her husband, Will of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlene Meisner of Waukesha, Wis.; and one nephew, Nickolas Meisner.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and one uncle, Leo Schnepf.
