SIOUX CITY | Betty L. Gray, 88, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City, with her two sons at her side.

Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be directed to www.cedarmemorial.com under obituaries.

Betty was born on Aug. 28, 1927, in Algona, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Elizabeth (Hunt) Link. She moved to Cedar Rapids as a young girl, where she graduated from Franklin High School on June 1, 1944. Betty then attended Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Mo., and graduated with honors in August 1944.

Betty married Frank J. Krejci on Dec. 29, 1948, with whom she had two sons, Greg and Jeff. She worked for Collins Radio Co. (predecessor to Rockwell Collins) for several years prior to working as office manager at Wagner's Printers for more than 20 years before retiring in 1989.

Betty enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and cross stitch, as well as listening to Iowa and Iowa State sporting events on the radio. She also enjoyed day trips to the area casinos from time to time, and lunches and shopping with friends. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend.

Survivors include her sons, Greg (Nancy) Krejci of Wauwatosa, Wis., and Jeff (Mary) Krejci of rural Sioux City; step-daughters, Cheryl (Robert) Evans and Lucinda (Loren) Burkhalter; stepsons, Rex Gray and Del (Donna) Bucknell; and numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Elizabeth (Hunt) Link; husbands, Frank J. Krejci, Bruce Bucknell and Arthur Gray; and brother, Darrell.

Betty's family would like to extend a special thank you to those who provided so much loving care to Betty during her golden years, including Donna Bucknell, Connie Kilts, Hospice of Siouxland, Sunrise Retirement Community and friends, family and neighbors who looked out for her and cared for her like family.

Memorial donations may be given to the Anna Purna Ghosh Foundation (a Cedar Rapids foundation providing assistance to people with cancer and blood diseases), Hospice of Siouxland or Sunrise Retirement Community (Sioux City).
