SIOUX CITY | William T. Cowan Sr., 55, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a time of sharing memories at 6:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Bill was born on July 14, 1960, at Glasgow Air Force Base, Mont., the son of Harold Keith and Ann Lavon (Boardman) Cowan.

Bill worked at IBP for 13 years and had been an employee of MidAmerican Energy for 18 years.

He loved to ride his Harley, spend weekends on his boat, riding around in his 1968 Chevelle and spending quality time with his grandsons.

Bill is survived by his children, William T. Cowan Jr. and his wife, Tashsa, Laura Cowan and her husband, David Hankins Jr., and Keith Cowan, all of Sioux City; three grandsons, Dakoda L. Jepsen, Kaiden M. Cowan and Grayson T. Cowan; two brothers, Larry Cowan and Dwayne Cowan; his significant other, Melissa Ehlers; and three stepsons, Jasun Comer, Alex Comer and Frank "Moose" Shults, all of Sioux City.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Gregg; his parents; a brother, Gordon Cowan; and a son, Christopher Cowan.
